In today’s post, I’d like to examine the differences among ROTC programs, both across different military branches and even within the same branch.

In review, ROTC programs are offered in the:

  1. Army
  2. Navy*
  3. Air Force 

*Aspiring Marine Officers would elect the Marine Option within Navy ROTC.

Campus life: Service Academies vs. ROTC junior rotc service academies

In today’s post, I compare service academy life to ROTC life. 

While this comparison will lump all of these programs together, understand that not all service academies or all ROTC programs are created equal.

How to build a target list of ROTC colleges junior rotc

For all of you out there who are applying for ROTC scholarships (and I hope that’s all of you), it’s time to build your list of traditional colleges.

This list consists of traditional colleges where you hope to use your ROTC scholarship (assuming you get the scholarship).

The first step is to make sure the colleges you’re applying to actually have an ROTC program.

Long-term planning is the ability to look ahead 3, 6, or 12 months, and set in motion a plan to accomplish a goal.
